A workflow links together user-specified tasks into a logical order so that users can repeatedly move through the same steps. Workflows are custom designed for each operation. Each operation must also manage their own workflows. This document provides information on how to edit a workflow that has been previously created.

This document describes how to edit an existing workflow template in the InfoEx system.

Background

A workflow template links together user-specified tasks into a logical order so that users can repeatedly move through the same steps. Workflow templates are custom designed by each operation and internally managed by users of the operation with Operation Administrator permissions. This document provides information on how to edit a workflow template that has been previously created.

Editing a workflow template consists of three main steps:

  1. Editing the general settings of a workflow template
  2. Editing the settings of a workflow step
  3. Saving the modified workflow template

Step-by-step description

Editing the general settings of a workflow template

Click on 'Manage Workflow Definitions' under the WORKFLOWS item in the main menu bar (Fig. 1).

Find the workflow that you want to edit in the list of existing workflow templates under the 'Workflows' section title and click on the the ButtonEdit.png button to the right of the workflow name. This will open the central panel of the page with the general settings for the workflow.

Click on the ButtonEdit.png (Fig. 2) to retrieve the workflow settings. The general workflow settings can be directly edited. Individual steps can be edited or deleted by selecting the ButtonEdit.png or ButtonTrash.png button associated with each step.
6. Select Save Workflow to save changes to the workflow permanently.
