This page describes how an existing customized report template can be modified.

Background

Reports can be customized by selecting date ranges, locations, observations, and by preferred ordering and layout.

The style of the resulting report can be preserved and duplicated for future reports. The resulting templates can be used to streamline workflows and improve the efficiency of information visualization and interpretation.

Alterations to a template can be preserved as a new report view without altering the existing template, or you can overwrite existing report templates with modified ones.

The following information assumes you are logged in to the InfoEx application, you have selected an operation (if you have more than one valid operation) and you have selected 'Reports' on the main application menu.

Step-by-Step Description

1.
Fig.1: Selecting an existing report
To modify a report, first select the most similar report to the report you will create by clicking on the arrow beside the active report's name (fig. 1).
2. By selecting the tables you want to use, your preferred layout and grouping, as well as filtering the specific fields of your report create the new report style that you want to make into a template.
3.
Fig.2: Saving the InfoEx report as a view
To preserve the report style in its new form select the down arrow beside the active report name and select 'Save Current View' (fig. 2).
4. Select 'Save as New' if you want to preserve both the old and new report templates. Select 'Overwrite' if you want to apply your modifications to the current report template.
