This page explains how to create a history report template for use in the run list and avalanche control workflow modules. The step-by-step description provided below is simply an example. It is possible to link the history buttons in the two modules to any standard or operation-level report template.

Step-by-step description

ISSUE Please note that in order to properly configure the location status table in your history report template, it is necessary to have some data in this report. This means that you may have to enter some avalanche and/or snowpack observations and complete a workflow with a run list step and submit the ratings to the server before setting up the history report template. We are working on finding a better solution for this.
JIRA: -Issue Number (Date)

This step-by-step description will create a history report that includes avalanche observations, snowpack observations and location status information for the last 30 days.

NOTE While the history report template is not specific about the locations included in the report, the report will by filtered by individual locations when used within the run list and avalanche control workflow modules (i.e., you will only see the history for the particular location or avalanche control route).
1. Go to the REPORTS menu and select 'Standard - Today' as a starting point.
2. Click on the layout button icon the top right corner and make the following changes:
  • Unselect all tables except the Avalanche Observation and the Snowpack Observation tables.
  • Select the new Location Status table
  • Rearrange the order of these three tables as you like.
  • Click on 'None' for the grouping option.
3. Click on the location field and select your own operation within the operation tab and click OK
4. Click on the check box to Include Proprietary Data?
5. Select 'Year-to-date' to put some data into your report. You will see all the avalanche and snowpack observations you submitted to the InfoEx this year.
6. Modify the Avalanche Observation and Snowpack Observation tables in the following fashion:
  • Remove Mountain Range column
  • Add Date column
  • Order table by Date (descending) to have the newest observation at the very top
7. Modify the Location Status table in the following fashion:
  • Remove Mountain Range column
  • Remove Share column
  • Add Date column
  • Order table by Date (descending) to have the newest observation at the very top
  • Specify the width of the individual columns to something you like. Please note that the columns will be scaled to the width of the window when the report is rendered in the history window.
7. Select 'Last 30 days' as the final date range option for your report.
8. Click on Manage and select "Save as New (Operation)" and enter a meaningful name (e.g., 'History for Run Lists'). Personal reports cannot be linked to history buttons.
9. Link the report template to the history button in either the settings of the run list workflow module or the configuration of the avalanche control extension.
