This page shows you how to sort the content of an individual table in your InfoEx reports. See Specifying the order of the tables in an InfoEx report for information on how to order the tables within an InfoEx report.

Background

Each table of observations in an InfoEx report can be individually sorted according to the content of a single column.

NOTE The application currently does not support multi-column sorting. You can only sort by a single column, which means that it is not possible to sort by date first and operation second, for example.
ISSUE Please note that while the emailed PDF reports are based on the same definitions as the customized online reports, not all of the customizations have been fully implemented for the PDF report yet. One of the existing limitations is that the PDF reports are not sorted properly. Click here for more information on how to sign up for email delivery of InfoEx reports.

Step-by-step description

1. Left-click on the header of the column you would like to sort over.
2.
Fig. 1: Sorting popup
From the popup menu (Fig. 1) either select 'Sort Ascending' or 'Sort Descending' to sort the table as wanted.
NOTE It is not possible to sort free-form text columns or columns that have been created by concatenating numerous field together (e.g., avalanche hazard column, which includes the hazard ratings for alpine, treeline and below treeline).
NOTE Sorting by operation will not result in an alphabetical order, but rather in pseudo geographic order that sorts the operation according to the three main InfoEx regions (1. Alaska, NW Region and Coast Mtns; 2. Columbia and Rocky Mtns; Eastern Canada) and roughly sorts them from NW to SE.
3. The table will immediately be updated with new sorting condition without downloading the data from the server again.
